And what more fun there is than sewing things for small people, especially the early born kids. It actually feels like sewing for doll, it is as small.<div>Over the year I did a few deliveries for the association and totally loved that: cute fabrics, minky and, well, the size is cute as well. My "subsidiary" mostly does little cosy blankets and "odour squares", but also sleeping bags. </div><div>They sometimes accept little hats so that one was great for using up some scraps. </div><div><br /></div><div>Apart from sharing all the pictures, I do not have much to say, but to mention that I will definitely be sewing something in minky for myself in the foreseeable future :)</div><div><br /></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; They are now 4 and a few months and 2 and a half if my count is correct so they got out of the super quick growing period, they even wore the last year linen pants still this summer. On the other side, squeezing something for them from little remnants is becoming more and more difficult, so I really need to plan the sewing in advance now and reserve pieces of fabric for it.</p><p>This is what I did this year:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO1rsOpcZVcG8xdIih5IEjj6Q3jaNiXA1HGG3l6UtJ0tkConU09ZImXRn5ZtXzisPp_VXDmcMx7rqh2ycOIBh9V8xY5Hjtp1N0his-iRgUd6wNkRQkzTp6zUhSHg3QTU1fo8wCjfDjbRw/s1080/_Z6C4173-HDRG-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="864" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgO1rsOpcZVcG8xdIih5IEjj6Q3jaNiXA1HGG3l6UtJ0tkConU09ZImXRn5ZtXzisPp_VXDmcMx7rqh2ycOIBh9V8xY5Hjtp1N0his-iRgUd6wNkRQkzTp6zUhSHg3QTU1fo8wCjfDjbRw/s320/_Z6C4173-HDRG-1.jpg" width="256" /></a></div><p>Linen shorts and t-shirt for the little one. I decided it was the year of a pocket so I really put them everywhere on the pants, I also had some fun topstitching. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrG4rsUPPhtUTqC-zKV6kojn5Y7OKf4so89HvlnOWic8dsnGJndPVCU2OutZLHbzSMOdXQS6Zw6ZTj6QV70osDw2E_stY_hqrpEWZZ6g4Dzbiv-Q1jcRjsmZICsvA6NF22oVMa1U65unM/s1623/_Z6C4180-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1623" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrG4rsUPPhtUTqC-zKV6kojn5Y7OKf4so89HvlnOWic8dsnGJndPVCU2OutZLHbzSMOdXQS6Zw6ZTj6QV70osDw2E_stY_hqrpEWZZ6g4Dzbiv-Q1jcRjsmZICsvA6NF22oVMa1U65unM/s320/_Z6C4180-G-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVIZA7SFUF2bueDiXDJpklfY8_tCtbF1fqTtnjJi3kNYQHr5ZV3l2kwRXeMXzaXm2PXhAREQTWXBrL90071lgL10GcHwrRASqDNItIL_ygbE0tNuy_ShHbOQ-LKbb1Sk_HxFpN6G8q320/s1512/_Z6C4185-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1512" height="229" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVIZA7SFUF2bueDiXDJpklfY8_tCtbF1fqTtnjJi3kNYQHr5ZV3l2kwRXeMXzaXm2PXhAREQTWXBrL90071lgL10GcHwrRASqDNItIL_ygbE0tNuy_ShHbOQ-LKbb1Sk_HxFpN6G8q320/s320/_Z6C4185-G-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>For the pants, I used a remnant from a linen dress I sewed for myself and I still have to document. I had this cotton-silk stashed for some time, always waiting for the right project. The fabric was rather fine, so a lining is quite needed.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrCD3eBQcRNU0_3dsVe2cq5CvLtRMowB09CdtKk2t4oyVuYgFZ6-o-E2hPxRWIqhXDSFnwZGm-qmgQE5oVB0YRL8jz90klOQlqbSoTkpiIQr7pwAUi8JZZZjTvXTfSJQmNJ_Y4MewDKPA/s1080/_Z6C2712-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="771" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrCD3eBQcRNU0_3dsVe2cq5CvLtRMowB09CdtKk2t4oyVuYgFZ6-o-E2hPxRWIqhXDSFnwZGm-qmgQE5oVB0YRL8jz90klOQlqbSoTkpiIQr7pwAUi8JZZZjTvXTfSJQmNJ_Y4MewDKPA/s320/_Z6C2712-G-1.jpg" width="228" /></a></div><p>Once I had sewn my liberty dress, I thought that a similar one could be done from this fabric as well. However, I decided to make is less adjusted on the waist and sew something more similar to the Myosotis dress.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbqfKchX4-6MtD0FsNSBatidxs3FsB5PTvxcvdVDJ_yidOEtg61UVpYgZFRAuwYCXZK6C9MCPEv0G6jxhwQCg2y83TzjaDlMKxUXzfByTqR75dXgk1M1TAdibtH7N-ZmKoMFmFkVdiRMI/s1080/_Z6C2715-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="719" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbqfKchX4-6MtD0FsNSBatidxs3FsB5PTvxcvdVDJ_yidOEtg61UVpYgZFRAuwYCXZK6C9MCPEv0G6jxhwQCg2y83TzjaDlMKxUXzfByTqR75dXgk1M1TAdibtH7N-ZmKoMFmFkVdiRMI/s320/_Z6C2715-G-1.jpg" width="213" /></a></div><p>This somehow worked and not worked. Even though I added a cm or so on the bodice length, I find the bodice shorter than on the liberty dress, and I have absolutely no idea why. Is this fabric suitable for one: definitely yes. So I am sewing one. This grey cotton satin was actually line 1 of my stash excel, so the oldest fabric bought and still not sewn. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmZvGaAKlxx_NJoHIDe8ddsGf03Cu8tuUA_5X6G0I0koruXcGiCV3nibOllW3xnZK91_qjCGJKxeV47gpNE86qznlI2aYkEaIlY9VfdDhGA12b1qvChPJYJSe7WHUrDWJF6P1Sja71X5k/s1080/_Z6C2672-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="719" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmZvGaAKlxx_NJoHIDe8ddsGf03Cu8tuUA_5X6G0I0koruXcGiCV3nibOllW3xnZK91_qjCGJKxeV47gpNE86qznlI2aYkEaIlY9VfdDhGA12b1qvChPJYJSe7WHUrDWJF6P1Sja71X5k/s320/_Z6C2672-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>Also, I already have an autumn dress in this fabric, so I wanted to avoid 2 of them. But a summer one, that could definitely work. The only thing bothering me was the weight of this fabric: it is a fine satin and actually has no weight and creases easily. I remember having to interface it with a voile on my autumn version. I decided to wing it and just make a simple fit and flare dress.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSQl7j3XETsiEGXQBMoixIi3Sfu7-VoMQx6vqOQvM-XUD3ohCNmUu4zqzdoW0l9Rk0729gsydTcSlgYDC4guSS8zTg673DaLmZuYzlO9A1Lr79G3hyXIJk_-jNVfqJgxPrZABavmPBgD4/s1080/_Z6C2781-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="719" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSQl7j3XETsiEGXQBMoixIi3Sfu7-VoMQx6vqOQvM-XUD3ohCNmUu4zqzdoW0l9Rk0729gsydTcSlgYDC4guSS8zTg673DaLmZuYzlO9A1Lr79G3hyXIJk_-jNVfqJgxPrZABavmPBgD4/s320/_Z6C2781-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>I used the bodice from Burda 108-03/2011 and a plied rectangle for the skirt. Pattern matching was a pain, because the fabric is not 100% printed on the grain. Also, I stupidly decided to match the little points on the bodice back, and fortunately did not match on the skirt (cheating little bit probably). I lined the bodice with a little piece of silk which I saved from some other project.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSgTg7yigh0gpnc5dSV40aCKhrblnTyRm2NhgJB8J3Z9RKF5jzELPU1yyl52FAEEO53z_gtfGSJiUjk-HQJR5nuW4clO2POCWO_hahKCHiPPxGT9eyODFIATu3M5F2SGReDMcm6zW3MkQ/s1080/_Z6C2665-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="772" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSgTg7yigh0gpnc5dSV40aCKhrblnTyRm2NhgJB8J3Z9RKF5jzELPU1yyl52FAEEO53z_gtfGSJiUjk-HQJR5nuW4clO2POCWO_hahKCHiPPxGT9eyODFIATu3M5F2SGReDMcm6zW3MkQ/s320/_Z6C2665-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>No further difficulties, some nice handsewing and a new summer dress is born. And one of the oldest fabrics (2014) is finally used up.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVOQy6YmzhXHY2KhRePOR7f_FWCXUxs4fjbHawab35X4uTqQuQxn_v9SGevnz9sUgDnzypeEX3yhNbrHZyhqBzbtiT_Svw0tZmHmBZGFRZYi30fo-GyJZJN933ELWJtnaYyyqawg1T_Ng/s1080/_Z6C2677-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="771" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgVOQy6YmzhXHY2KhRePOR7f_FWCXUxs4fjbHawab35X4uTqQuQxn_v9SGevnz9sUgDnzypeEX3yhNbrHZyhqBzbtiT_Svw0tZmHmBZGFRZYi30fo-GyJZJN933ELWJtnaYyyqawg1T_Ng/s320/_Z6C2677-G-1.jpg" /></a></div>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-59451623080721192312021-05-16T00:47:00.005-07:002021-05-16T00:47:48.412-07:00Decisions, Decisions<p>I was having a month of indecisions. I pulled out fabrics from my stash, checked the patterns, matched them and then hesitated and changed my plan again. Pulled out some other fabric, found a new pattern and waited some more. In the end, nothing was happening on the sewing front and my fabrics continued to wait. </p><p>I decided I had to change the strategy, because obviously, my wishlist strategy was not working anymore, I still had a few to-sew items there which would not be worn before October. </p><p>I took my stash excel (yes, I have that and it is the best thing in the world for keeping me in check) and assigned a project to any fabric suiting the coming seasons (spring and summer). It resulted in 20m of fabric to be assigned to a project which is a quarter of my current stash. Now, I just had to start from the top, i.e. with the oldest fabrics.</p><p>So I did not start from the top but from the bottom, but never mind, it somehow worked and I got to sew things and I love the results, so that is the most important I guess.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSLa_qGPxsSU2eVDD2RymilBB8q_VXPL5Il-Zhdi2qbrv1KExTXc2ReY7BYWT090sPPTrXeEEGznN5ymhWOq3qVnKC8wDroDQ_nS4MymG40XaJMns30UIXqDJ4WXoFL7dXRk_93uNbuLg/s1080/_Z6C2638-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="771" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSLa_qGPxsSU2eVDD2RymilBB8q_VXPL5Il-Zhdi2qbrv1KExTXc2ReY7BYWT090sPPTrXeEEGznN5ymhWOq3qVnKC8wDroDQ_nS4MymG40XaJMns30UIXqDJ4WXoFL7dXRk_93uNbuLg/s320/_Z6C2638-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>I actually used one of the newest additions to stash which was kid of an internet shopping error. While I like the grey flowery fabric, it seems washed out in real life and I also only had a meter, as I planned to use it for a shirt. The problem is that it has quilting cotton weight so obviously not very suited for a simple shirt.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAqCwXqDhG_KttTrkU6mkHwpSAuYT6KNSqRB-ugJrXxiu6FJCFXrztfn1Bs5zjT7T5U-XBcwFIS2dWQA_43eureEzOIe_kklcRtM8kkDv7MwQNd6eqjqxkW9Az_RyZBanwPwjc8ZqaC-I/s1080/_Z6C2771-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="719" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiAqCwXqDhG_KttTrkU6mkHwpSAuYT6KNSqRB-ugJrXxiu6FJCFXrztfn1Bs5zjT7T5U-XBcwFIS2dWQA_43eureEzOIe_kklcRtM8kkDv7MwQNd6eqjqxkW9Az_RyZBanwPwjc8ZqaC-I/s320/_Z6C2771-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>But a shirtdress... that might work. And it did! I pulled out the already tested Butterick 6333, chose the version without sleeves (because I did not have enough fabric) and narrow skirt (obviously the same reason and also, the fabric weight), no pockets and no belt (did I say I only had one meter?) and whipped it up in no time. Actually, not having to do a muslin helped and I knew that the dress was going to fit alright.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaVYNQ0pNbExSccN8KyUbW3Jt6Q0bWnU2iGre28RLjJiQSCBgaGLvhU1afROVnngJ5Hc37MIqJ3yEPvvNe4dlS2aHQFnNvDVzr1OOAzKRoAZ8eydh1pIfvwd4s9XfR98sEK22cBZd6dMY/s1080/_Z6C2635-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="771" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaVYNQ0pNbExSccN8KyUbW3Jt6Q0bWnU2iGre28RLjJiQSCBgaGLvhU1afROVnngJ5Hc37MIqJ3yEPvvNe4dlS2aHQFnNvDVzr1OOAzKRoAZ8eydh1pIfvwd4s9XfR98sEK22cBZd6dMY/s320/_Z6C2635-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>Obviously, this dress needs a lot of buttons, so I opened my magic button box convinced that I was not going to buy any and I found a set of perfectly grey buttons coming from my grandmother stash. They just blend in SO WELL, I cannot believe it.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4Lwm3SdGDaV8mfsqmhr0izkVUInRCyflgh4_mBJ7JSm8_q_h_wl241lOIgPQv9M7oJ4oGw4LkVpoh9663QVlRNpMTtfDqS9ujrLvo-UwlqA5xm4AuNVVUdtMI1-HBiqXGaT5e4iaVzXw/s1623/_Z6C2775-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="1623" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4Lwm3SdGDaV8mfsqmhr0izkVUInRCyflgh4_mBJ7JSm8_q_h_wl241lOIgPQv9M7oJ4oGw4LkVpoh9663QVlRNpMTtfDqS9ujrLvo-UwlqA5xm4AuNVVUdtMI1-HBiqXGaT5e4iaVzXw/s320/_Z6C2775-G-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>The dress finished I tried it on and I am loving it. I cannot understand why I hesitated so much with this fabric. It only confirmed me one thing: I need to get more fabrics from my stash to my wardrobe.</p>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-2838826040795195422021-05-08T23:36:00.000-07:002021-05-08T23:36:14.672-07:00Merino Cardigan<p>This post will be short, but as I am trying to publish everything I sew, I cannot omit this cardigan. The fabric comes from a bundle of merino jerseys I had bought some time ago and am sewing through. I ordered everything from The Fabric Store and basically bought different weights and colours so that I can play with it. I mostly had different shades of grey. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoQW2ij_40DFhU4Jmt_QSafPT25OxASdS_9pWNYZj-OxVnJAMa9jt0MHUJDR9PGQAuhmztepoX0nw7m07V7TdVBXer7qO41r5ggow_dABbxsae4al8m86BACHavRuYrHOOaYYVgEj8XgA/s1080/_Z6C2616-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="772" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjoQW2ij_40DFhU4Jmt_QSafPT25OxASdS_9pWNYZj-OxVnJAMa9jt0MHUJDR9PGQAuhmztepoX0nw7m07V7TdVBXer7qO41r5ggow_dABbxsae4al8m86BACHavRuYrHOOaYYVgEj8XgA/s320/_Z6C2616-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>I took some time to look for the right pattern and in the end settled on Burda 104-10/2020, my October issue had just arrived by that point. I remember changing it a lot, though.</p><p>Not sure if these pictures do it justice as I mostly wear this cardigan with black dresses or t-shirts under it. It is rather practical, warm and soft and the colour fits my wardrobe. </p><p>I am definitely planning on sewing some more merino cardigans, but next time, I will use a standard sleevehead and not the fallen sleeve - I feel like it is not the best look on me.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhigdqao0e_CfEm0ZT0SUF8Zy6Pp-qDdt1HpApnqdD8EV3SCuUDu3XuuGTStsJTszDz8Q6OJOjGhWDI03BERuYTfDSRjRrcpmo-NILuqjhPT53DNl1ZpmxZ89-3gIbW8OtLionJOSqF7zs/s1080/_Z6C2629-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1080" data-original-width="719" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhigdqao0e_CfEm0ZT0SUF8Zy6Pp-qDdt1HpApnqdD8EV3SCuUDu3XuuGTStsJTszDz8Q6OJOjGhWDI03BERuYTfDSRjRrcpmo-NILuqjhPT53DNl1ZpmxZ89-3gIbW8OtLionJOSqF7zs/s320/_Z6C2629-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><br /><p></p>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-34400767373302820172021-05-02T11:54:00.006-07:002021-05-02T11:54:54.243-07:00Bella Dress in Petrol<p>This is not new, but it is as amazing as my previous versions of the Bella Dress from LMV. I have sewn this pattern two times already and I definitely do not regret this third version. I bought the silk crepe in petrol little bit by chance when ordering something else. This piece was just in such a regular rotation, that he almost wanted to wear it two times. So even though merino does not smell bad even if you sweat in it, I do not think it is always a great idea.</p><p>I just remembered I still had about a meter of merino sports jersey from The Fabric Store and decided one week-end to cut into it. It was originally "reserved" for a cardigan for me, but I am still undecided which kind of cardigan I would like to have, so that is not happening any time soon. I believe a sports t-shirt will have a much more utility now.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9z_zcX_Uq59OZfLvpXgRACY5F4fXotQ-GsibIdFlGvM9uribqsdvAgmV8ztGYWjRWUUZkK1YD743KEknh4kINcFZhmQmRidqKA6JjPTdpe2w-cLXhA1sFxE1wwwtN7hmnnhwvwI99C5A/s2048/_Z6C2415-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9z_zcX_Uq59OZfLvpXgRACY5F4fXotQ-GsibIdFlGvM9uribqsdvAgmV8ztGYWjRWUUZkK1YD743KEknh4kINcFZhmQmRidqKA6JjPTdpe2w-cLXhA1sFxE1wwwtN7hmnnhwvwI99C5A/s320/_Z6C2415-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>This is just a basic, so in terms of sewing, there is not much to say apart from the fact that I copied his RTW t-shirt and sewed it with a flatlock seam. I wanted to add a little something, so used an old scrap of cotton jersey around the neck and a little "etiquette" on the left side for days when he does not now where the front and the back is.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUQlTJ6iE1QN-PBupgDCHc5RcI7lX0EvF4oUOvC3FiH2bNCZuEpPyAOqf9K-pTx1R62Lh3xJFxDr-A-7OkLEno7Pe7Y0QKsUcDG2NCXBxlTPiMeCyQlFwXgIAugZh1lUp0IiGq8s0KRXk/s1919/_Z6C2417-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1277" data-original-width="1919" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhUQlTJ6iE1QN-PBupgDCHc5RcI7lX0EvF4oUOvC3FiH2bNCZuEpPyAOqf9K-pTx1R62Lh3xJFxDr-A-7OkLEno7Pe7Y0QKsUcDG2NCXBxlTPiMeCyQlFwXgIAugZh1lUp0IiGq8s0KRXk/s320/_Z6C2417-G-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>The t-shirt got instantly worn and is in regular rotation since - my BF currently runs 3 times a week, so he is at least covered for two of them with merino. On the other side, the weather is getting warmer, so I believe that he will start wearing regular sports shirts soon.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4dOoTtuvP8E1uGWcPZF5OwJDheqPsMh2YEuMqbd-fmYl_NpMUmK1uj8wQ6oMQXkndQH03I8jrziTVQ9HxTwDMOkRssdV-aqQHLEbpzviYDW3Vr2smxIQkrH3l7EWQ1Hl6eaXKZnDSUQ4/s1919/_Z6C2419-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1277" data-original-width="1919" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh4dOoTtuvP8E1uGWcPZF5OwJDheqPsMh2YEuMqbd-fmYl_NpMUmK1uj8wQ6oMQXkndQH03I8jrziTVQ9HxTwDMOkRssdV-aqQHLEbpzviYDW3Vr2smxIQkrH3l7EWQ1Hl6eaXKZnDSUQ4/s320/_Z6C2419-G-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-56239432809835587352021-03-14T09:58:00.002-07:002021-03-14T09:58:35.404-07:00Liberty Cuteness<p>I do not think I have ever bought and sewn Liberty fabric, but I am afraid that I will try that again, because this was pure joy. First, I must admit that I was never particularly drawn to Liberty, as a lot of their designs are in fine, pink and blue colours, i.e. not my style. Also, I try not to wear a lot of little flower designs.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGjwxf3L86SxNjbZf2pBxN9W3zwIRDE77UGjS0idVZQJ7ArcRLh14b4itVOfCv5RoScpSRYM_Yq7ZRUUbvKg9SmD8mWZDN2I2GYTM-ri9Zw_A30hxQ87m7tyZD0tDmjFSp1AD0eWr8iUw/s2048/_Z6C2384-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhGjwxf3L86SxNjbZf2pBxN9W3zwIRDE77UGjS0idVZQJ7ArcRLh14b4itVOfCv5RoScpSRYM_Yq7ZRUUbvKg9SmD8mWZDN2I2GYTM-ri9Zw_A30hxQ87m7tyZD0tDmjFSp1AD0eWr8iUw/s320/_Z6C2384-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>However, when I saw this one, all alarms started beeping: ochre, green, red and black, ALL YOUR COLOURS, please buy me!!! and have a look, from faraway it does not even look like flowers. Well, I was weak and ordered it. When the fabric arrived, it was even better in real life than in the pictures and also, the fabric is so fine and soft. Well, it did not stay in my stash for long.</p><p>Of course, I had to find the right pattern, but I figured out that when buying Liberty, I should go for the classics, and sew a little cute dress. I was hesitating a little on whether I really want to have an all flower dress, but then, we are in the middle of the pandemics, I will mostly wear this at home or on vacation, so let's go for it.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj32ArxXrn9nosSoKtZbwPM9jAPwPqJXC69OAkYCVPOMiclW5fuScBvM60hZOSUFNavCRkvJ6n9y4A7qo5ReCdAu8cBYoExKeXrfuE0rp02OFNctx4ghEb3g01boQtjqdCBap0V82rl2tE/s2048/_Z6C2412-Modifier-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj32ArxXrn9nosSoKtZbwPM9jAPwPqJXC69OAkYCVPOMiclW5fuScBvM60hZOSUFNavCRkvJ6n9y4A7qo5ReCdAu8cBYoExKeXrfuE0rp02OFNctx4ghEb3g01boQtjqdCBap0V82rl2tE/s320/_Z6C2412-Modifier-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>I used Burda 108-11/2020, with a few modifications: I did not want to have the buttons on the skirt, so I added a side zip and I certainly did not want the sleeve ruffles :) I cannot have both, little flowers AND ruffles, let's be reasonable here. I was also hesitating on putting in some skirt lining, but in the end, I decided against it, fearing it would add too much of the volume.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdGjCmkTdjjv7y9pSYcmIFvhwujgaQYO9oGD8uYEreqK4GbP8uK4GODn8baVM-oxuVLIaU_716DAGTHjnCgJw9w-eCSFCp-xZjHGt0MH3hK39fMufX1t0__p_ucDHpPJG8cBzk-O8uz0E/s2048/_Z6C2410-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhdGjCmkTdjjv7y9pSYcmIFvhwujgaQYO9oGD8uYEreqK4GbP8uK4GODn8baVM-oxuVLIaU_716DAGTHjnCgJw9w-eCSFCp-xZjHGt0MH3hK39fMufX1t0__p_ucDHpPJG8cBzk-O8uz0E/s320/_Z6C2410-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>The fabric was just magic to sew, I seem to always say that when sewing with simple cottons, as it is just sooo easy compared to jerseys, silk or basically anything else. This does not mean I want to only sew cottons, but it is great to make such a nice project from time to time.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmmu72iBQeJKy0BqgPDl4hQVwUjg_Le-to_w9gxdm_XlA_AW5hZ85MlbfY_Wxs_QKie575RwRS86z5NsXrwPRNPeiOCTNbMOkid4nEu3V35OJXrZF9eRVlgmsIquLr5zU7aGdMqKu3uF8/s2048/_Z6C2368-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmmu72iBQeJKy0BqgPDl4hQVwUjg_Le-to_w9gxdm_XlA_AW5hZ85MlbfY_Wxs_QKie575RwRS86z5NsXrwPRNPeiOCTNbMOkid4nEu3V35OJXrZF9eRVlgmsIquLr5zU7aGdMqKu3uF8/s320/_Z6C2368-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>The nacre buttons are from my enormous button stash, so a great win for no additional spend.</p><p>Verdict: I love the dress. It has just the right amount of cuteness and romanticism, but it still works with dark shoes. I am pretty sure I will wear it in summer with sneakers, but it was way too cold when we took these pictures.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglkr4uV6qoUvX7lWmhskhVvDQCzTA1K7ZdsoKd8HDwSczPrre32vWrlCPqb6zMFRjiEGHeaJbH4TIR-Y489jADhp8tIP-2S0cmqTC4VfYMrjlCFjvYBt83A7oT9ZHCsdP_nsjcP7XUEZo/s2048/_Z6C2357-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglkr4uV6qoUvX7lWmhskhVvDQCzTA1K7ZdsoKd8HDwSczPrre32vWrlCPqb6zMFRjiEGHeaJbH4TIR-Y489jADhp8tIP-2S0cmqTC4VfYMrjlCFjvYBt83A7oT9ZHCsdP_nsjcP7XUEZo/s320/_Z6C2357-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>Now, where can I find some more cute Liberty...</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLWRfQSt7V_qOzvxwOfUR9bIwK2mZMAg0n8g_bFiu06GecCEV37C8HLrSK0BbH_wferB9pA-8cStuYXIJ2lRKBpM2UOFcQ8myC5EBSSGdlZvR0WnNNdCEdljDONAtdGatlLeuXR_IMGOQ/s2048/_Z6C2373-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLWRfQSt7V_qOzvxwOfUR9bIwK2mZMAg0n8g_bFiu06GecCEV37C8HLrSK0BbH_wferB9pA-8cStuYXIJ2lRKBpM2UOFcQ8myC5EBSSGdlZvR0WnNNdCEdljDONAtdGatlLeuXR_IMGOQ/s320/_Z6C2373-G-1.jpg" /></a></div>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-61041350614385550942021-03-07T06:45:00.004-08:002021-03-07T06:45:45.953-08:00Velvet Dress n°2<p>Aka the grey one.</p><p>Hmmm, velvet, good or bad idea? I was a teenager in the 90s, so basically grew up with high-waisted jeans, pinafores and crushed velvet which was a big hit at that time. What comes next? t-shirts under summer dresses and black bras under white t-shirts, urghhh. Ok you got it, I am not a big fan of the current fashion comebacks. Never mind, but a basic velvet, that cannot be such a bad idea, right? At worse I will only wear it at home.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2SHFM77s0bnOW3Px57r5zkSY6ce1Ktn4PN0ClfSpXERNI0RCY9MslYI-TGplFZJWChGpH1r9khkQ8bo1QRUY6kB1ogD35W_DjshWmgkDenx5Zxy_zHbjwwF27PXJYp4cmgL2hmTxJ2V4/s2048/_Z6C2299-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2SHFM77s0bnOW3Px57r5zkSY6ce1Ktn4PN0ClfSpXERNI0RCY9MslYI-TGplFZJWChGpH1r9khkQ8bo1QRUY6kB1ogD35W_DjshWmgkDenx5Zxy_zHbjwwF27PXJYp4cmgL2hmTxJ2V4/s320/_Z6C2299-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>With that in mind, I ordered 2 velvet fabrics just before x-mas, one piece was also used for a little cute baby number. And during my x-mas staycation I sewed two dresses.</p><p>The grey fabric is a mix of cotton and viscose as is therefore thinner and drapier. I used a Knipmode pattern (10/23) mixed with my jersey dress block. I do not think there was anything complicated, the dress whizzed through my serger in no time and it was done.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX6OkxofdPqF0mof6zxA2C3Gw2MSDYQR28wPLPWh2fMSy-iBuJGEwnzlElG5YWs8e0On6rRmWMNxPJovkDF9Juzmx-4VtW4a-VOfCLg5eXeL51yWrIDfng2AiDDAthPUcFQFDEVrCeWaQ/s2048/_Z6C2285-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiX6OkxofdPqF0mof6zxA2C3Gw2MSDYQR28wPLPWh2fMSy-iBuJGEwnzlElG5YWs8e0On6rRmWMNxPJovkDF9Juzmx-4VtW4a-VOfCLg5eXeL51yWrIDfng2AiDDAthPUcFQFDEVrCeWaQ/s320/_Z6C2285-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>And it was worn almost once a week since. I actually wore it on New Year's Eve, but whatever, you got the idea.</p><p>I had order some velvet fabric at the end of the last year, one was a mix with viscose and this one 100% cotton. The cotton is much heavier than the viscose, but as soft, so great for some season-appropriate dress.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL7RnuThgnlpiCWqBp31V9BIVx-fZpckVGn02gOboDKqokIJTls4X-i56SBY3mrJQpQcrIXeJ8ViXyBTjYfC031cO1J6IVFd4uF82IaJ3hAgaBjF0dXoLOAsY2mczc3m3Y_oWTypkESd8/s2048/_Z6C2262-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgL7RnuThgnlpiCWqBp31V9BIVx-fZpckVGn02gOboDKqokIJTls4X-i56SBY3mrJQpQcrIXeJ8ViXyBTjYfC031cO1J6IVFd4uF82IaJ3hAgaBjF0dXoLOAsY2mczc3m3Y_oWTypkESd8/s320/_Z6C2262-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>I had this pattern from Burda 118 from March 2020 in mind earmarked, so I figured this could be a good idea. Hmm, in the end not so much, as the fabric is way too heavy for that and there is just too much fabric for that on your waist, but it is a great and comfy dress and I loved wearing it on New Year's Eve. Btw, my BF is a big fan :)</p><p>The pattern is really great, the cleavage is somehow deep, but closed enough so when you stay standing, there is absolutely no way flashing anything. I think that is pretty darn good. Even relaxing on the couch, it does not open so much, so it is really well designed. In any case, I could always put in 2-3 safety stitches if needed.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYXqcSD4O2so_xYwJ4wRulhtWer1ee5-GKXmjJrRH9KkjQ9iAboIgXmtk1tSa2NsgEqjWMMuADk3YfVFhDPCFS7k-i3UzS6I7VtmaI22MbVYf8SqgZBUCmgIVFe3WYqAlcWqHRt0rIfqo/s2048/_Z6C2257-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYXqcSD4O2so_xYwJ4wRulhtWer1ee5-GKXmjJrRH9KkjQ9iAboIgXmtk1tSa2NsgEqjWMMuADk3YfVFhDPCFS7k-i3UzS6I7VtmaI22MbVYf8SqgZBUCmgIVFe3WYqAlcWqHRt0rIfqo/s320/_Z6C2257-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>You might have seen that the sleeves are not hemmed, actually, I must have cut them out too short, so they were just right not hemmed - this is a cotton jersey, it does not frau so I just let it go.</p><p>The dress creates a great silhouette of course, and I really managed to have waist sitting on the waist, which definitely helps, thank you Burda for being consistent with your sizes, as I can just blindly do a few standard adjustments and have a dress ready.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1tesbJ8ck1Crr7ZERZih7aLaZZrK26_-WeMDosZxf3NFZFHIEIIpFSpw2zxdVAZ73AHfy0VvQIEMAaumnJZtb_InE9PNRQBMgu4gM8UWJCEWLdZi9U4O8iQ3oLa7ATms8ET5eWan8gT8/s2048/_Z6C2245-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi1tesbJ8ck1Crr7ZERZih7aLaZZrK26_-WeMDosZxf3NFZFHIEIIpFSpw2zxdVAZ73AHfy0VvQIEMAaumnJZtb_InE9PNRQBMgu4gM8UWJCEWLdZi9U4O8iQ3oLa7ATms8ET5eWan8gT8/s320/_Z6C2245-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><br /><p></p>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-34583098808388502502021-02-21T10:26:00.003-08:002021-02-21T10:26:43.115-08:00Drops cardigan<div>This post is super overdue, I just checked my tracking spreadsheet and it says this thing was finished in May 2020. Oh well..</div><div><br /></div>I have dreamed about a casual black/not-so-black cardigan for some time. So when I found this drops cotton jacquard, I had to buy it. I was motivated enough to get it sewn rather quickly but I was looking for the right pattern.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaxnt-3rwaaAgP8zQE2zsnBrxVBAA8xo7XfwspN7dynVPTa4UOKZGUlWOgSBAbBcLlzxhIzcoW-e2Z2PjBrAnNQ5e4H-nkTg9Py85ezHxfBL3mxLB5tx23_g-04bPCv82xATi7OLrS3y8/s2048/_Z6C2223-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaxnt-3rwaaAgP8zQE2zsnBrxVBAA8xo7XfwspN7dynVPTa4UOKZGUlWOgSBAbBcLlzxhIzcoW-e2Z2PjBrAnNQ5e4H-nkTg9Py85ezHxfBL3mxLB5tx23_g-04bPCv82xATi7OLrS3y8/s320/_Z6C2223-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>The thing is, most cardigan pattern are not meant for really drapey fabrics and Burda is not a big cardigan source. Check StyleArc or some indies, which I basically never sew, and you will find many of them. But not the right one for my fabric.</div><div>After some ponderation, I decided to go for this Burda pattern: 119-08/2018 - it looks really cute on the model and is quite original.</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0HGwYxfHxjl4Niwz8clt6wjJVIM1yQpKQbT8eHAqY6UOQ00aoKdoUNf9giZZUG8NGp5wCZA6m1-5vK3jQ1bxawCeKSU562DdyQQlTrg923hihpQ-OMoBx0rtxdu5Q0iIuJPCwOfKkTfs/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="344" data-original-width="408" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh0HGwYxfHxjl4Niwz8clt6wjJVIM1yQpKQbT8eHAqY6UOQ00aoKdoUNf9giZZUG8NGp5wCZA6m1-5vK3jQ1bxawCeKSU562DdyQQlTrg923hihpQ-OMoBx0rtxdu5Q0iIuJPCwOfKkTfs/" width="285" /></a></div><br /></div><div>Pattern downloaded, printed, fabric cut out, it all took only a few hours. The problem is that I was not happy with how it looked on me. Once I saw it on myself, I realized my mistake: the model is a slim tall person on which almost anything looks cute. Not my case, right? It added volume on the shoulders and around the top of my body which I did not like at all. I tried to slim it down on the sides but it only accentuated the volume on the upper part.</div><div><br /></div><div>On side it went, I just did not want to lose the amazing fabric so I started thinking about how I could salvage it.</div><div>After some thinking about the Bianca wrap, I finally decided to copy an RTW cardigan of mine. Fortunately, I still had some fabric to cut out the sleeves, the body was cut out from the original version.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNTfc_FysKMITi5fgy_a_rCfe_JorNONm9komiKMcL7VuExJp0CiRexBwwUX7slGMWJzudozruk4yx3Zw4dxMJeiMR0B2fuZVBhqlDtvK_rDnYD5tqsFKpFhNcVY52TH18Plkej98jeGA/s2048/_Z6C2238-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNTfc_FysKMITi5fgy_a_rCfe_JorNONm9komiKMcL7VuExJp0CiRexBwwUX7slGMWJzudozruk4yx3Zw4dxMJeiMR0B2fuZVBhqlDtvK_rDnYD5tqsFKpFhNcVY52TH18Plkej98jeGA/s320/_Z6C2238-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>I am now much more happy with the result, it really looks good and fits my style much more.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuXZGpTVNZH-hASvMKz9BpdQwF9tqHK0ZmmaPkB7rnNNLRTu7m9t-W3-E4hUYIf4wKXSz0vWq8VChxY4Tc5pmyWs_EgPOxN1Btlv5b3KdZjo7vRFBMoKi3v4zhYkSDcYcktrC3bTjew3E/s2048/_Z6C2240-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhuXZGpTVNZH-hASvMKz9BpdQwF9tqHK0ZmmaPkB7rnNNLRTu7m9t-W3-E4hUYIf4wKXSz0vWq8VChxY4Tc5pmyWs_EgPOxN1Btlv5b3KdZjo7vRFBMoKi3v4zhYkSDcYcktrC3bTjew3E/s320/_Z6C2240-G-1.jpg" /></a></div>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-76118006660815322242021-01-29T06:05:00.000-08:002021-01-29T06:05:08.696-08:002021 Year Plan<p>We are almost at the end of January and I have still not published my 2021 resolutions, so quickly catching up before it is too late and before we finally get some pictures done and I can publish my 2020 makes. I have quite a huge backlog now, so even though I have not sewn almost anything in January, I can still blog easily for 2 months ahead.</p><p>My main objective for 2021 would be a stash reduction of 10m, as usual, and an attempt on sewing even more from my stash. I spent quite some money on sewing supplies and patterns in 2020, including a revision of my sewing machine and a new serger, excused by the pandemic, lockdown etc, however, I currently have a lot of things in my wardrobe and definitely do not wear them as much as I would like to so there is not much point on sewing many things in general. I can already feel it on my January motivation, as I spent my free time on reading and learning new stuff much more than sewing. </p><p>Another big objective is to use scraps. I have a big box of scraps, plus another one with refashion/recycle items. While there is a reason for that and I occasionally reach in them, they keep growing and the 2 boxes will soon not be enough. So the aim here would be to try to use up the scraps for useful stuff. </p><p>A few ideas so far:</p><p>- make-up removals (already done)</p><p>- yoga colour-blocked clothes or underwear for jersey scraps</p><p>- jewellery </p><p>And I might also have a try on some crazy patchwork.</p><p><br /></p><p>As for the projects, I am not planning anything in particular, I have quite a few fabrics which are earmarked for specific projects (in my mind), so if I get to make these, it would be enough:</p><p>- liberty flower leisure dress</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh47-ettpd1S4N6RhXT6oTKOdgbnEU5UiBWRDJHylqw4OjHhJQr7mHVzynThE4NwgH0QguEp46hdJveHGyWkIlM3qahnZ2kpMfhrngU4kEC-io2_1fDua_XUVGFb-X_SFludqGq9LJoX80/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="216" data-original-width="118" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh47-ettpd1S4N6RhXT6oTKOdgbnEU5UiBWRDJHylqw4OjHhJQr7mHVzynThE4NwgH0QguEp46hdJveHGyWkIlM3qahnZ2kpMfhrngU4kEC-io2_1fDua_XUVGFb-X_SFludqGq9LJoX80/" width="131" /></a></div><br />- silk casual jacket<p></p><p>- Greenstyle moxi shorts in multiple colours</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxuT5wqJioFdJTmrTuLVA5IhmkkJEYmF_YJOy7NrTtYni5ieGVZWAsrZz2PkRzCHf988E2bfOpICL3xJTGytzuJRNGWdXVf6ndbxbzF7AQGXSbsM5t_jHpKkeLGAIgLm2oLBId43-tttw/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="328" data-original-width="904" height="116" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxuT5wqJioFdJTmrTuLVA5IhmkkJEYmF_YJOy7NrTtYni5ieGVZWAsrZz2PkRzCHf988E2bfOpICL3xJTGytzuJRNGWdXVf6ndbxbzF7AQGXSbsM5t_jHpKkeLGAIgLm2oLBId43-tttw/" width="320" /></a></div><br />- black spring coat<p></p><p>- grey ponte 2-piece</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOoq3IQ_WFeIzl_GDpFJYa1XoYjmg6Qt2C6DapafGHwzNnBnHKIANnn5755X8D2rsxRVdEAZej1X5qDXgYfmNIrLA1udXG1fm3Dv6Fscqd7nRjxvSxQE39lc03KDvRHdjex_JdVltLeac/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="593" data-original-width="520" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgOoq3IQ_WFeIzl_GDpFJYa1XoYjmg6Qt2C6DapafGHwzNnBnHKIANnn5755X8D2rsxRVdEAZej1X5qDXgYfmNIrLA1udXG1fm3Dv6Fscqd7nRjxvSxQE39lc03KDvRHdjex_JdVltLeac/" width="210" /></a></div><br /><br /><p></p>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-83428461759695502742021-01-16T04:37:00.004-08:002021-01-16T04:37:23.197-08:00Some Other Non-Garment Sewing<p>This is just to document some x-mas gifts and some non-clothes sewing I did at the end of the last year.</p><p>Honestly, it was quite fun to sew something else than my usual dresses, as I was not very motivated to continue adding new standard clothes to my wardrobe, knowing that I only wear my collection of jersey dresses in the end. Full time home office became a norm again at the end of October and we are nowhere close to getting to the office on a regular basis before.... hmmm... end of March or possibly April, I would guess.</p><p>However, I got to do some other projects:</p><p>In preparation for December, I whipped up a quick Advent calendar for us - nothing super fancy, just 24 fabric bags, sewn super quickly on the serger. But this project used up a piece of black poly I would never ever use for a piece of clothing, as well as some nice ribbon.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWjl6iGI__uYFVF_mwJrRGWFZ7-Wh-YuTSqbg8oZrjRhaUV6JigUNjHY4yYdtBMeX4jKKcCobizRkDrppUvTc802a-z2EJkH4DIeCrAu2tT64wmIxjnlhzMAaSFtydKG5l33bcWm4SaYg/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="857" data-original-width="1251" height="219" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiWjl6iGI__uYFVF_mwJrRGWFZ7-Wh-YuTSqbg8oZrjRhaUV6JigUNjHY4yYdtBMeX4jKKcCobizRkDrppUvTc802a-z2EJkH4DIeCrAu2tT64wmIxjnlhzMAaSFtydKG5l33bcWm4SaYg/" width="320" /></a></div><br />I only sticked the numbers with washi tape, so that I can keep the little bags afterwards.<p></p><p>Next were some merino t-shirts for my parents, I actually used the same pattern for both of them, just adjusted the size little bit. I also added a little something on each of the shirts to make them more unique.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOfzKLWvSg_vhhGy2oBuuW4gciUlGr8NfRBKiteBrWbgfyLicuaVhtD5TDVP53Nn8V0VLr4b5EV0v5V_EKwHhHzEZoSVECAk89-lupuryzsO7bo7xFimMeipPFGwgS3J2sl1UWbmb6S4o/s2048/_Z6C1826-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1463" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjOfzKLWvSg_vhhGy2oBuuW4gciUlGr8NfRBKiteBrWbgfyLicuaVhtD5TDVP53Nn8V0VLr4b5EV0v5V_EKwHhHzEZoSVECAk89-lupuryzsO7bo7xFimMeipPFGwgS3J2sl1UWbmb6S4o/s320/_Z6C1826-G-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>Last but not least, the big fashion in my Facebook sewing group this year: the reversible octopus. I used some velvet scraps from my 2 new velvet dresses which was a good and a bad idea. The octopus is very soft, but it was a pain to sew. The fabric frayed or disintegrated very easily and I had to resew several seams, as I was discovering new holes when filling the octopus up.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYt7fr3kB4bYl2AtCyaKqVVxd5jzPy0LEIn8-JC4z7_5KoRgKfPR6q9jBgSHZGJ5zJGRReaRoWphAWHnY7_UG4Fnr4utkqGVp35zt2AwWds_LVt6rs_NdeSzW_bCfbHLFc-WDuD1nNIJY/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="718" data-original-width="704" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiYt7fr3kB4bYl2AtCyaKqVVxd5jzPy0LEIn8-JC4z7_5KoRgKfPR6q9jBgSHZGJ5zJGRReaRoWphAWHnY7_UG4Fnr4utkqGVp35zt2AwWds_LVt6rs_NdeSzW_bCfbHLFc-WDuD1nNIJY/" width="235" /></a></div><p></p><p>Also, I was not sure how much it should be stuffed, enough to hold its shape but not too much to be able to reverse it. But here are the ones who made it to the top5.</p><p>1. Turtleneck dresses - a big hit: <a href="http://b-rouchka.blogspot.com/2020/02/turtleneck-dress.html" target="_blank">here</a>. Worked pre-pandemic, works during the pandemic as well. Such.A.Great.Staple. Also, I used this pattern for so much more than just 2 dresses, for turtlenecks, as well as normal dresses.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsGDwAZBNlOYi2V3n52wXDYsJMeqCnQ4ktrFUEYPj1vBXT6FCjvzsxALCqJSRUrkcegK1ewJ0-B5IVwnGKSC_qBE4W16fM7akGY86PRv6Z_154LjUiYfbbmdleZl34o0XueucFSSw_svA/s1920/Z6A_1907-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1920" data-original-width="1277" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjsGDwAZBNlOYi2V3n52wXDYsJMeqCnQ4ktrFUEYPj1vBXT6FCjvzsxALCqJSRUrkcegK1ewJ0-B5IVwnGKSC_qBE4W16fM7akGY86PRv6Z_154LjUiYfbbmdleZl34o0XueucFSSw_svA/s320/Z6A_1907-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><br /><p>2. Merino anything - our <a href="http://b-rouchka.blogspot.com/2020/03/merino-wonders.html" target="_blank">Iceland tops</a>, my <a href="http://b-rouchka.blogspot.com/2020/10/outfit-sewing.html" target="_blank">black sweater</a>. I still have some in my stash, so hopefully will continue sewing with it. It has an amazing drape and is so soft and nice. The real home luxury.</p><p>3. <a href="http://b-rouchka.blogspot.com/2020/04/old-burda-treasures.html" target="_blank">The spring coat</a> - while I had no plan to sew a spring coat in these colours, I found the fabric, mostly by chance and chose the pattern from some old Burda. It was the first lockdown project, it kept me occupied and I basically wore it anytime I was going out in autumn.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx0PHyhsaS3k7uS9O4kM-lN7rq5OyvJuUEqCnSRKC8-U5tgBEgWi6JgZf7z7gGtLYiXJHsnKwGgz6NGwKr88Dz8TT_fFP25ftD9JOCUaJgghE3YCr84zx0QMTeCjfKqXSEU6YTlzHnn2s/s1920/Z6A_4779-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1920" data-original-width="1278" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjx0PHyhsaS3k7uS9O4kM-lN7rq5OyvJuUEqCnSRKC8-U5tgBEgWi6JgZf7z7gGtLYiXJHsnKwGgz6NGwKr88Dz8TT_fFP25ftD9JOCUaJgghE3YCr84zx0QMTeCjfKqXSEU6YTlzHnn2s/s320/Z6A_4779-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>4. <a href="http://b-rouchka.blogspot.com/2020/06/a-super-quick-project.html" target="_blank">Viscose summer dress</a> - using only a scrap of fabric, I created and amazingly comfy and nice dress. Wore it the whole summer at home and outside.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif3I03Tlb58CGgQUoUR7zmNXMCcT-fhl70W-swxvqlplqE_0QvD1bcP9bGh6jcvLTT0IiIrZD4lF8XExubq2yPQarCisidiK7PgBDFaTTb0HhYWAl6kClROf1-CeEgtOqmvPSCztBwQQk/s1920/_Z6A6418-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1920" data-original-width="1371" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEif3I03Tlb58CGgQUoUR7zmNXMCcT-fhl70W-swxvqlplqE_0QvD1bcP9bGh6jcvLTT0IiIrZD4lF8XExubq2yPQarCisidiK7PgBDFaTTb0HhYWAl6kClROf1-CeEgtOqmvPSCztBwQQk/s320/_Z6A6418-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>5. <a href="http://b-rouchka.blogspot.com/2020/12/black-fleck-dress.html" target="_blank">Black fleck dress</a> - in spite of some pooling around the neck, this dress is a secret pyjama looking like a very classy outfit. Maybe if it was just a top, I could pair it with some dark bottom and it could work. Otherwise, it is just too much of ochre for my liking.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhChwKKEKTgePGSJdkiZuY3mxzSx13yBLPKaW_hYpqKZ72h41jxDoxr_Osn6stbRXVaIs97Ji1wH0jrYY7LB2OZ4fKODSOEOcnih_FU7iQVxNEqA-kAxkaiBPQW_N3hI8oHp82zXbuu4XU/s1920/Z6A_4604-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1920" data-original-width="1277" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhChwKKEKTgePGSJdkiZuY3mxzSx13yBLPKaW_hYpqKZ72h41jxDoxr_Osn6stbRXVaIs97Ji1wH0jrYY7LB2OZ4fKODSOEOcnih_FU7iQVxNEqA-kAxkaiBPQW_N3hI8oHp82zXbuu4XU/s320/Z6A_4604-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>2. <a href="http://b-rouchka.blogspot.com/2020/06/the-klimt-dress.html" target="_blank">The Klimt dress</a> - again, the fabric is not the best choice. I made the mistake of buying a quilting cotton for a dress, which is rarely a good idea. It is too stiff and not comfy enough, especially in 2020. It got worn maybe twice last summer.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcw-geLvcivOT0qLeDrdagEfSI3pB2HQYUVYpJmZ6bK6E_1hisqWc2PWxaSJbJZDkYZqW9NdkuoEIKK_9PWCN4pIhR-dGeJqXZ4f1Ca_M0UXH9BGB65qgP7QfwcU8QPhtJt0K0WDJB6Sk/s1920/_Z6A6407-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1920" data-original-width="1277" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjcw-geLvcivOT0qLeDrdagEfSI3pB2HQYUVYpJmZ6bK6E_1hisqWc2PWxaSJbJZDkYZqW9NdkuoEIKK_9PWCN4pIhR-dGeJqXZ4f1Ca_M0UXH9BGB65qgP7QfwcU8QPhtJt0K0WDJB6Sk/s320/_Z6A6407-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>3. <a href="http://b-rouchka.blogspot.com/2020/10/another-try-on-jumpsuit-trend.html" target="_blank">The black jumpsuit</a> - this was a resolution for 2020 and I thought that having the pattern, the fabric and finally the time to do it, there was no reason not to do it. It got sewn, I learned new things, but even though a jumpsuit could be cool to wear at home, I do not reach for it. First, there is the toilet issue, second, it does not have sleeves which means that I would either be too cold or would worry of getting a sunburn on my shoulders. So it is a version which could work in summer in the office, maybe.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyOL23jOI2k7RVcdvVC_Dp8itEDtMGm96E_LZDqgiFsN4WBTvp8rssHbI7EP9M131aGeSU12x0-rq5DgAJYofYTNKKfBJvAEJZdlzSwxsdI_2mZBOyJ2KRaw4Zjc577sow0ZIZeghzUN0/s1920/_Z6A6675-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1920" data-original-width="1277" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiyOL23jOI2k7RVcdvVC_Dp8itEDtMGm96E_LZDqgiFsN4WBTvp8rssHbI7EP9M131aGeSU12x0-rq5DgAJYofYTNKKfBJvAEJZdlzSwxsdI_2mZBOyJ2KRaw4Zjc577sow0ZIZeghzUN0/s320/_Z6A6675-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>4. <a href="http://b-rouchka.blogspot.com/2020/11/flight-attendant-dress.html" target="_blank">Flight attendant dress</a> - I was happy that I found a project for this fabric and I like the collar very much. I ordered some cotton velvet for me and for the baby and little pieces of cotton jersey at the beginning of December thinking I was way ahead of time. Unfortunately, the cotton jerseys (with very cute cars on it) were out of stock which I only learned mid December. The velvet was another story: it was dispatched from the German warehouse but due to the German lockdown, DHL no longer delivered to France. Fortunately, their customer service proposed to send the same fabrics from their Danish warehouse which I agreed to and the packet finally arrived on 23rd December!!!</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTGFisB_u2oK2Qdz4Yae32ByZynGIZ5Du9rcbvGZa9Hn2K-73hULQTVFXAr6PuQslAWE6FCOYA6DKztkk-Wb9Z0rLKhhcCnImoOrQ4UgQbseDe8o6PHzymtKMh-MuofrA7IRC4jYQBKYg/s2048/_Z6C2110-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTGFisB_u2oK2Qdz4Yae32ByZynGIZ5Du9rcbvGZa9Hn2K-73hULQTVFXAr6PuQslAWE6FCOYA6DKztkk-Wb9Z0rLKhhcCnImoOrQ4UgQbseDe8o6PHzymtKMh-MuofrA7IRC4jYQBKYg/s320/_Z6C2110-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuLgGX_N0NacWPCCpryryGKmXgHfWDV22v9zE5TXSSKd78E-pe7BOGPhErqIBMH_Gtm1Js-t2sR63CEjbYjc6j4xv7JLJMaZlRJscN6qKd-_ZLTQfcswsCFwpRdc9C9UWIMRmNHwAnTq8/s2048/_Z6C2112-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjuLgGX_N0NacWPCCpryryGKmXgHfWDV22v9zE5TXSSKd78E-pe7BOGPhErqIBMH_Gtm1Js-t2sR63CEjbYjc6j4xv7JLJMaZlRJscN6qKd-_ZLTQfcswsCFwpRdc9C9UWIMRmNHwAnTq8/s320/_Z6C2112-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>Because of all this, I had to change my plans and pick up a cute animal jersey I had bought earlier in the year and not used up yet. I only had about half a meter, so I squeezed in a small body and a full body overall and had almost no scraps left. The body is my favourite Burda pattern and the overall came from this year Burda as well - with footies added.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoHxO3PAtOMd6pYIOr_0SZEPkYJNi3RXLw0j8ISpQuWn9TpkYQOs5rzzmU3ymjRdgfdDqeXS2DMtESfMUr3Hn6n50vEsogdDCjmBQeBvqk2W2FayXWZsWeAh8CDtge_LQJvonnB6lRBms/s2048/_Z6C2120-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1638" data-original-width="2048" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgoHxO3PAtOMd6pYIOr_0SZEPkYJNi3RXLw0j8ISpQuWn9TpkYQOs5rzzmU3ymjRdgfdDqeXS2DMtESfMUr3Hn6n50vEsogdDCjmBQeBvqk2W2FayXWZsWeAh8CDtge_LQJvonnB6lRBms/s320/_Z6C2120-G-1.jpg" width="320" /></a></div><p>As for the velvet, I wanted to sew a larger overall from it (Ottobre 2020), so when the fabric arrived, I quickly washed it up, tumble dried and started sewing as well. Stash reduction - decrease stash by 10m</p><p>Almost there - I reduced my stash by exactly 9m, which represents 10% of the total stash at the beginning of 2020, so definitely a win. I am proud of 2020 being the 4th consecutive stash-reducing year.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3uzDKdX0yKeRhvy8LdhZJJCJJEcLzLY6lYp9xrglr-TqbfOgFFCdmVkV0tiLsjPyxxAdNhk1KHdDwUKb7KIoKFLfKoDiqWqHnew2N6uKhTp9ElgDVMNgbNJvH4Re9lYJ5_IF4IIAotWI/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="499" data-original-width="1159" height="138" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh3uzDKdX0yKeRhvy8LdhZJJCJJEcLzLY6lYp9xrglr-TqbfOgFFCdmVkV0tiLsjPyxxAdNhk1KHdDwUKb7KIoKFLfKoDiqWqHnew2N6uKhTp9ElgDVMNgbNJvH4Re9lYJ5_IF4IIAotWI/" width="320" /></a></div><br />I managed to use up some old fabrics, mostly cottons, as well as some cotton scraps, as I sewed 130 face masks from my own stash this year. I do not want to say "thanks covid", however, it helped :)<p></p><p>Also, I sewed up all fabrics bought in 2018, please do not ask how I managed that. For all other years, the split is quite even, except the purchases in 2020 where I did not have time to use up everything.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtimg7IQcDYBi7B4Kwei9jjR63DmJ152Ua-YG-Us3juxKd4fPL-b6XoNULQa6RacgzSKMYBjp9Hus-lj3zLd9a2NWyDfQJtL1GPLmBVP1fqGryOGTplNk3VSgHin-mEn67olh1uWLNXoM/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="817" data-original-width="1161" height="225" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtimg7IQcDYBi7B4Kwei9jjR63DmJ152Ua-YG-Us3juxKd4fPL-b6XoNULQa6RacgzSKMYBjp9Hus-lj3zLd9a2NWyDfQJtL1GPLmBVP1fqGryOGTplNk3VSgHin-mEn67olh1uWLNXoM/" width="320" /></a></div><br /><br /><p></p><p>2. New sewing skills - learn sewing with jerseys</p><p>A big win. Because of covid and working from home for the most part of the year, sewing jersey was THE THING to do this year.</p><p>Merino t-shirts for our winter trip to Iceland, merino shirts for my family for x-mas (I actually made a big order of merino jerseys which helped not achieve my 1st goal completely), casual jersey dresses were the best thing of this year, as this is what I wore the most, so it was the most logical thing to sew. I still have quite a lot of things to blog about, including kid's clothes and velvet x-mas dresses for me, as well as my new sports outfits.</p><p>It definitely helped that I purchased a combined overlock/coverlock machine in January. It took me some time to learn to thread it properly and start really sewing with it, but once I have mastered it, I cannot stop. Sewing jersey is just super quick and nice with this machine, I do not even mind switching from overlock to the coverlock mode.</p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLLT3mP4tT3RdHKNNP_n1Zum_RUHMIqF7cmFIulVeG5b_lTUqDJKLslev3RmhDnuWtFx9OjxPruigE6dPXBUECruMltGG9VnNx7O6FxX11ts2a6Zl6wT_hJiT88b-fgteqPpaqGCrglU0/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="747" data-original-width="1211" height="197" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjLLT3mP4tT3RdHKNNP_n1Zum_RUHMIqF7cmFIulVeG5b_lTUqDJKLslev3RmhDnuWtFx9OjxPruigE6dPXBUECruMltGG9VnNx7O6FxX11ts2a6Zl6wT_hJiT88b-fgteqPpaqGCrglU0/" width="320" /></a></div><br /><br /><p></p><p>3. Follow the wishlist</p><ul style="background-color: #fefdfa; color: #333333; font-family: Arial, Tahoma, Helvetica, FreeSans, sans-serif; font-size: 13px; line-height: 1.4; list-style-image: initial; list-style-position: initial; margin: 0.5em 0px; padding: 0px 2.5em;"><li style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0.25em 0px;">Black winter coat (Burda) - done, not yet blogged though</li><li style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0.25em 0px;">Black mid-season coat (Burda) - not done, but I sewed another <a href="http://b-rouchka.blogspot.com/2020/04/old-burda-treasures.html" target="_blank">midseason coat from Burda </a></li><li style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0.25em 0px;">Pair of jeans (Closet case) - not done</li><li style="border: none; margin: 0px 0px 0.25em; padding: 0.25em 0px;">Black jumpsuit (McCall's) - <a href="http://b-rouchka.blogspot.com/2020/10/another-try-on-jumpsuit-trend.html" target="_blank">done</a>, even though not worn as much as I have imagined</li></ul><p>2 out of 4, but with me staying at home all the plans got somehow changed, so the result is not so bad in the end.</p><p><br /></p><p>4. Burda challenge</p><p>Hmmm, so I sewed a lot from Burda this year (detail to come in my hits&misses post), but for the exact 2020 number, not so sure. I had to check my sewing excel and the result is actually better than I had thought:</p><p>2020 Burda used: March (2x), April, August, September, October (4x), December (2x)</p><p>So that is half of the issues received. I have however, had quite some issues with receiving them and they also arrived later than they were available on the newsstands which is quite a disappointment and which means that I am no longer a subscriber and will continue buying an occasional issue now and then.</p><p><br /></p><p>All in all, that was a great year, sewing wise. I spent a lot of time at home, and sewing actually helped me stay focused and concentrated and as usual, it was a great way to destress after work. In general, I do not consider 2020 such a horrible year, as everybody is trying to suggest, I managed not to catch the virus, and still have my full time job at the end of the year, I feel rather privileged, as the only constraint to that was not being able to travel as much as I would have wanted and staying at home. </p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNYjGCyeAMvTPscYij4q0LjnTNGwRnkGvEQ3pxQ59U0hHaMsF7bf-UgRVFLRArs1JrHmB50cdnvAkEppZDgthlNNUzGMeyjX4crVuR2zGNTLUlyef6Nc3_nQL1DdXP_hAHE9lTYG240H4/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="551" data-original-width="601" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiNYjGCyeAMvTPscYij4q0LjnTNGwRnkGvEQ3pxQ59U0hHaMsF7bf-UgRVFLRArs1JrHmB50cdnvAkEppZDgthlNNUzGMeyjX4crVuR2zGNTLUlyef6Nc3_nQL1DdXP_hAHE9lTYG240H4/" width="262" /></a></div><br />I do not want to go too much into detail, as this is a sewing blog and in terms of my sewing, I have really expanded my skills with my serger, I sewed some more kids clothes and some sophisticated and complicated garments as well.<p></p><p></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgR41-KOz4V0Yp0OHbPZNrDoNTrWuw2xYTypUMrN4uTusybDoAQ4XD-Gp5KG9q4yLZl8h_IORntjjemSNlmBQl0rbjZLjWpG6WOl1wAyBLXS_vgUwGaKBN1RQEedE7prShkXO4AeYKlWrs/" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img alt="" data-original-height="893" data-original-width="671" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgR41-KOz4V0Yp0OHbPZNrDoNTrWuw2xYTypUMrN4uTusybDoAQ4XD-Gp5KG9q4yLZl8h_IORntjjemSNlmBQl0rbjZLjWpG6WOl1wAyBLXS_vgUwGaKBN1RQEedE7prShkXO4AeYKlWrs/" width="180" /></a></div><br />(beautiful inside of my spring coat)<p></p>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-90855356874498686352020-12-27T10:34:00.002-08:002020-12-27T10:34:13.910-08:00X-mas gifts sewing, 1st batch<p>And so comes some X-mas sewing - as usual mostly little boys collection :)</p><p>I was really wondering what else do little guys wear in winter, as apart from trousers, t-shirts and sweaters, I really do have difficulties finding something original to sew for them, so I try to at least</p><p>- sew outfits</p><p>- sew from funny or unexpected fabrics</p><p>Are you ready? Here comes the small version (2 year-old):</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU5m3NMSue8a1AvTS_QyXpW0FlN8siu98gab2tPA4PMHGlsMG8hURen3ZOjZkGpoRwyQjWRLyQ3IJXWFPVJjqhLBGMiPLMDvkuUVTLDFcI9TfMnIl7jZeUJx6wLtP8DrqtqPmm734ndZY/s2048/_Z6C1778-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU5m3NMSue8a1AvTS_QyXpW0FlN8siu98gab2tPA4PMHGlsMG8hURen3ZOjZkGpoRwyQjWRLyQ3IJXWFPVJjqhLBGMiPLMDvkuUVTLDFcI9TfMnIl7jZeUJx6wLtP8DrqtqPmm734ndZY/s320/_Z6C1778-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>His mom was sending me hints on the last linen trousers I sewed for him, as she really loves them and as they seem extremely comfy, unfortunately, my linen remnant (which was reserved for this guy for some time) was not big enough. Also, at two years, it is quite difficult to find patterns for real trousers, as the size falls right in between baby sizes (and mostly leggings) and kids sizes (too big). </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAZjTSX_HpPyRIPHFPZVDoDJXp5E5UHWpYl4OR5ksFG7PcjnhWJLoJrxfTnJKKcUzghS6Twrm_tCwNiC2AesHFbW9igh0BpYReUpPhIMBCPE1xPPNM_12ysO8F-u6CO70gBUXvIb1V5n0/s2048/_Z6C1780-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgAZjTSX_HpPyRIPHFPZVDoDJXp5E5UHWpYl4OR5ksFG7PcjnhWJLoJrxfTnJKKcUzghS6Twrm_tCwNiC2AesHFbW9igh0BpYReUpPhIMBCPE1xPPNM_12ysO8F-u6CO70gBUXvIb1V5n0/s320/_Z6C1780-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>In the end, I managed to match two patterns and improvised linen trousers with elastic in the waist and, of course, big pockets. The linen was already used for a summer dress for me, a dress and a handbag for one little girl and now, I can officially confirm, I do not have any more.</p><p>For the t-shirt, I used last year Ottobre Kids issue (10-03/2019). I own exactly two issues but I use them for maybe 90% of all my kids sewing. They have funny, diverse patterns, they have an equal amount for boys and girls (!!!) and more importantly, their patterns cover really large size ranges, contrary to Burda which is often limited to one age group (and usually not the one I need).</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjppl8dTyubg5KxykycQKs3gS3JC_Gum1lC3v7Gdd1RdTy9Lhd9o0xmN-pSx2qbWnllOz0t0L4GA_kmfC15QTvdBcQSkw1JsQl7izsMHqw23nJI0cCZOH4I34HEhcqmJe1SneMeuUjHhxY/s2048/_Z6C1782-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="2048" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjppl8dTyubg5KxykycQKs3gS3JC_Gum1lC3v7Gdd1RdTy9Lhd9o0xmN-pSx2qbWnllOz0t0L4GA_kmfC15QTvdBcQSkw1JsQl7izsMHqw23nJI0cCZOH4I34HEhcqmJe1SneMeuUjHhxY/s320/_Z6C1782-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>As for the sweater, it comes from Ottobre 08-04/2020, I told you... Actually, browsing Stof&Stil website proves rather dangerous, because I totally love their online catalogue and get inspired, probably too much inspired.</p><p>So while this order threw me quite far away from my stash reduction goal, I am not desperate (yet), I still have some two more weeks in 2020 to go and it looks like I will be spending them at home a lot, so let's stay positive, I have all my chances to get close to the goal level.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjchlgF27KR8dKDydMSRrm3Lgmg3T_zhz4nStZLSHuiMYidczH6b-WMKfLIKjmrgvT0QLy28ZCIUTET3aoS-nVkEMVdKn8k12ibUeVFR6A0mBXqnQp9izVrNfF_8vMp88FYH6pHwm4D-3w/s2048/_Z6C1634-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjchlgF27KR8dKDydMSRrm3Lgmg3T_zhz4nStZLSHuiMYidczH6b-WMKfLIKjmrgvT0QLy28ZCIUTET3aoS-nVkEMVdKn8k12ibUeVFR6A0mBXqnQp9izVrNfF_8vMp88FYH6pHwm4D-3w/s320/_Z6C1634-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>One of the fabrics I bought (and somehow forgot between the moment I paid my order and it being delivered) was this exquisite black French terry with little white flecks. Not only is the fabric nice and quite classy (for a French Terry, that is, hahahaha), but it is also extremely soft on the inside. </p><p>The choice of the right pattern was rather quick, as I was eyeing the Burda 111-01/2019 since I had the magazine. It is a simple jersey dress with a high neckline and very simple lines. </p><p>Since I can now master my serger and since I already had black thread in it, this pieces just flew through it and was sewn in no time. I realized that batch sewing is really the way to go with a serger because you feel more productive.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVJGxXUINdX5n2CI7xwgRQTgELHNV8S52TfDACiicAdPAlmkxTDUdEzaB7ux7QeBUuvlCi5iQCG7D5PuncnP7g6MOa5wQS12W47PbUZHcT1y0AGUhRjPrVWJC4FmcLOTDOZHNO14bYYCY/s2048/_Z6C1639-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVJGxXUINdX5n2CI7xwgRQTgELHNV8S52TfDACiicAdPAlmkxTDUdEzaB7ux7QeBUuvlCi5iQCG7D5PuncnP7g6MOa5wQS12W47PbUZHcT1y0AGUhRjPrVWJC4FmcLOTDOZHNO14bYYCY/s320/_Z6C1639-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>Back to the pattern - I actually did a few modifications - the dress is supposed to be closed with a zip on the back which I omitted, but kept the back seam. The dress itself has absolutely no shaping opportunity in the back, apart from the back seam, so I played with it a little bit. Since my fabric was not extremely stretchy, I was afraid that I could not get my big head through the funnel neck, so I improvised a little opening in the should seam with 3 press buttons. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKBr0piOmxrwf7flZ_RQUJvkNlTDUpjnycsiVpZLaw2saEWHM_aE0d1HgPvE2VNeskBe_cIsRy2PKPrBVwXtFdbTuQw2Yjp_mgVedOFHFNcVj7_vGycUmTfo4b7grWUrDBfPRypE9q9pk/s2048/_Z6C1624-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKBr0piOmxrwf7flZ_RQUJvkNlTDUpjnycsiVpZLaw2saEWHM_aE0d1HgPvE2VNeskBe_cIsRy2PKPrBVwXtFdbTuQw2Yjp_mgVedOFHFNcVj7_vGycUmTfo4b7grWUrDBfPRypE9q9pk/s320/_Z6C1624-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><br /><p>In terms of shaping, I took in a few centimeters on the front as well so that the dress is adjusted without being it too tight.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggJtgideS2hYGnbmSbF3yIAr8PemSYJ14bR3atHUuzcUC_jYU_g09SvmNzFo2zy0efQC0GOwiPsMZh9ZmVyoPWWKYDlzshyphenhyphenDHbGjGS6bjtmlWhYQnWrqB-iYqLnWMJejo-n5ipehE9ul4/s2048/_Z6C1647-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEggJtgideS2hYGnbmSbF3yIAr8PemSYJ14bR3atHUuzcUC_jYU_g09SvmNzFo2zy0efQC0GOwiPsMZh9ZmVyoPWWKYDlzshyphenhyphenDHbGjGS6bjtmlWhYQnWrqB-iYqLnWMJejo-n5ipehE9ul4/s320/_Z6C1647-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><br /><p>And the result is just awesome. I am not yet sure if I would wear it to work, even though it looks ok in the black and white, but somehow, unconsciously, I still have the feel of the French terry on the inside and so think of the dress as a casual one.</p>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-40081049800243586572020-12-06T11:35:00.006-08:002020-12-06T11:35:58.941-08:00The Success of Procrastination or the Dark Green Dress<p> I always like dresses from ponte, but find it quite difficult to buy some in not uni version. So when I came across this dark green flowery fabric, I just had to buy it. The only issue is that printed pontes are usually more poly than viscose and you can easily feel it, oh well.</p><p>I ordered the fabric last year in winter months so obviously, had no intention to sew it during summer. Then September came in and I tried to find again my sewjo by muslining 3 dresses at the same time and cutting out 2 of them right afterwards. This one was one of them. I chose Burda 102 from 12/2019 issue, a dress which was originally sewn from a woven but I figured that it would work from my stable knit. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe2Heg55BZjwFTpbKTirK2Yxx9-7q5CdkcNj2ckcOHbi1Sr_GGdBDcBklzulLhkKPhqzBdQiaUjtalEFBuCwjeoUXs5RsqB1I8cyi7DNHd6BsoVc10XEKnER4Ckc4VrXH6K_OnEOUn9gk/s2048/_Z6C1662-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhe2Heg55BZjwFTpbKTirK2Yxx9-7q5CdkcNj2ckcOHbi1Sr_GGdBDcBklzulLhkKPhqzBdQiaUjtalEFBuCwjeoUXs5RsqB1I8cyi7DNHd6BsoVc10XEKnER4Ckc4VrXH6K_OnEOUn9gk/s320/_Z6C1662-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>I am really happy that I batch cut out my projects because I would have probably hesitated still some more and this way, the fabric was prepared, I only had to assemble it. I even motivated myself to use and rethread my serger, therefore, the dress took exactly one after-work evening to sew. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6FTbeVlCCmbXYXLb4f8KEYvTPMrTZEw-woKUPXOMdM7trZTDX1a8zFKSzWCeN1MO4p8XNse_im2aeaKqOLpB-C8fPKz6mM9Mslo4FbexkQZfGacthVP5VeylrgOjjgSuXbeun-6WslQ0/s2048/_Z6C1658-G1-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj6FTbeVlCCmbXYXLb4f8KEYvTPMrTZEw-woKUPXOMdM7trZTDX1a8zFKSzWCeN1MO4p8XNse_im2aeaKqOLpB-C8fPKz6mM9Mslo4FbexkQZfGacthVP5VeylrgOjjgSuXbeun-6WslQ0/s320/_Z6C1658-G1-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>I tried some pattern matching and there are places where it really worked well, like in the front, so I am definitely proud of myself. The dress was very quick to assemble and since I muslined it, there was almost nothing to adjust during sewing (except the sleeves' and overall length). I still tried it on during the construction process and that is when I realized that I was going to really like the result.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirivUxBfLLXCr-DbkqpCbqBvISnp9XcUyrU6w_Y7JupaaqVBN7gLx0iTnSqH_XVSgjtRlGkBq1yV89qz9MJYHSs66rhNZ5wPuKh9BZruVcp_ETzhEFDfOkLHeqioMo-SnJLY40eboD0Bg/s2048/_Z6C1675-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirivUxBfLLXCr-DbkqpCbqBvISnp9XcUyrU6w_Y7JupaaqVBN7gLx0iTnSqH_XVSgjtRlGkBq1yV89qz9MJYHSs66rhNZ5wPuKh9BZruVcp_ETzhEFDfOkLHeqioMo-SnJLY40eboD0Bg/s320/_Z6C1675-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>Once the dress was finished I was really excited - the fit is really perfect, I can put it on without any closing and the colour is great on me. So a great WIN, in the end.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLklHUHwQSnMC4Yk0bO0W9pmwlcAy1sLz7aN46BFAtVaqTekQTDamlZi15-pFbLNPih9EGaOT_0JnCrCJROL4gyoZoAbIehD-z1GiDmGDe5BPESdHZ07oXW_7OQbMjaLhWi7c78lhgCJI/s2048/_Z6C1668-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLklHUHwQSnMC4Yk0bO0W9pmwlcAy1sLz7aN46BFAtVaqTekQTDamlZi15-pFbLNPih9EGaOT_0JnCrCJROL4gyoZoAbIehD-z1GiDmGDe5BPESdHZ07oXW_7OQbMjaLhWi7c78lhgCJI/s320/_Z6C1668-G-1.jpg" /></a></div>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-22863116663603874602020-11-30T12:14:00.001-08:002020-11-30T12:14:11.640-08:00Viscose Leaf Dress<p>As I am working from home again full time, I am trying to adapt my sewing to my new lifestyle and sew more things which I would wear immediately. Since we were nearing the year end I was trying to stop buying fabric and just sew what I had in stash. I am still motivated to hit that -10m target. However, I came across this leaf fabric on the Stof&Stil website and even saw a dress they presented and I figured out I just had to have it. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-ISKN_-5hUuf1MmJ_GrYzlxE9VKaPLknKhjZhafqMp3dmlUIRx4PmFeFks5qW80RCiALu-dloOFVsg0Wv2vL0oairYdm4FYdnzp3XimV23FlweuKrcPo_dr0Me5y7E6iwUUeyBupQ6uw/s2048/_Z6C1760-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj-ISKN_-5hUuf1MmJ_GrYzlxE9VKaPLknKhjZhafqMp3dmlUIRx4PmFeFks5qW80RCiALu-dloOFVsg0Wv2vL0oairYdm4FYdnzp3XimV23FlweuKrcPo_dr0Me5y7E6iwUUeyBupQ6uw/s320/_Z6C1760-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>The only hick was the fabric content, as I had some very bad experience in the past with really slinky and plasticky viscose jerseys and therefore avoid buying it. But this fabric was way too beautiful, so I risked it. And I was really surprised when the fabric arrived and was rather soft, almost like a peachskin. At this moment I knew that the fabric would not remain long in my stash and that the dress was going to be sewn quick.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmxS1-3XFELJmz2XCSNoAxAgMI4Ao-eFJPrV7GNT1cOnyknAKcF8_PQsHEmppa5aedfBcreMiWjQkAgILA_LnBeF8xgXROKEsuaf6L9O4Z4X3IiITRV1lA7dQ5t5CMgom71BL7it-E-AQ/s2048/_Z6C1742-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmxS1-3XFELJmz2XCSNoAxAgMI4Ao-eFJPrV7GNT1cOnyknAKcF8_PQsHEmppa5aedfBcreMiWjQkAgILA_LnBeF8xgXROKEsuaf6L9O4Z4X3IiITRV1lA7dQ5t5CMgom71BL7it-E-AQ/s320/_Z6C1742-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>I used a mashup of Moneta dress and my turtleneck block and it worked really well. Now, that I am using my serger/coverlocker, this kind of projects are extremely quick, even too quick, I would say. The dress was ready in one evening. As I am lately sewing a lot of jersey dresses, I must admit that I am missing having a long project with some handsewing. It is planned, though, to sew a winter coat, so I will hopefully get to it quickly and will enjoy making it as well.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1GZj3gzwu1f8EqF-w45nDRtRGrhg1NHUj6ldzSlHCSIC3mfNpsYjoCORZV97OeTd8crPWt11ppBn4Xj1eDgweOkPpw7VvBrIKB2fV8QdLPrEOjfiGPXtIiILi9JJHQFanNHb2UYm7l2s/s2048/_Z6C1745-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1362" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg1GZj3gzwu1f8EqF-w45nDRtRGrhg1NHUj6ldzSlHCSIC3mfNpsYjoCORZV97OeTd8crPWt11ppBn4Xj1eDgweOkPpw7VvBrIKB2fV8QdLPrEOjfiGPXtIiILi9JJHQFanNHb2UYm7l2s/s320/_Z6C1745-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>Back to the leaf dress, even though there is not much to say about it: it is stretchy, comfy, yet class. This dress was actually my comeback to sewing after vacation and honestly, I was seriously procrastinating on it. I used Burda 102-08/2020 - a very recent pattern of which I totally loved the picture in the magazine, but this is largely due to the fabric they used. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeh0dwaawNRnhcys9n4tROC8kDuiS_KfUzLDlWjbGeoKp4elIBY0kK9j5gUvpaSOqMTz_jYOLpUW8LspB1F5IIBsvsap3SXDv63zWk39IlQIj8ybXd-52nPI_54T-BpnY32bmG6deZAkg/s2048/_Z6C1519-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjeh0dwaawNRnhcys9n4tROC8kDuiS_KfUzLDlWjbGeoKp4elIBY0kK9j5gUvpaSOqMTz_jYOLpUW8LspB1F5IIBsvsap3SXDv63zWk39IlQIj8ybXd-52nPI_54T-BpnY32bmG6deZAkg/s320/_Z6C1519-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>As I did not want to buy anymore fabric (huge fabric shopping haul in September which brought me back to the 2019 numbers, so I have to get sewing if I want to achieve my 2020 goal), I tried to find something suitable in my stash. </p><p>In the end, I decided to use this dark blue cotton-wool which has a little texture so I thought it would be really nice. I quickly measured the dress against my dress block, adjusted the shoulders and started sewing without a proper muslin. Also, since I wanted to line the dress and hide the construction parts in the lining, I changed the construction steps. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinvppg1RLU6X1hZFgGagwdAzKyeaQYbGQiBIvvZ4vJ-8eEEjR3OfN710jDB1i-2CqBwtbwudWGHN9bza0jX3WJt4n2JpCCZwe5jbo_z1xAh9_5W1M2R1DTHugQHh4y79MZCnU_4P-A0SU/s2048/_Z6C1503-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEinvppg1RLU6X1hZFgGagwdAzKyeaQYbGQiBIvvZ4vJ-8eEEjR3OfN710jDB1i-2CqBwtbwudWGHN9bza0jX3WJt4n2JpCCZwe5jbo_z1xAh9_5W1M2R1DTHugQHh4y79MZCnU_4P-A0SU/s320/_Z6C1503-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>The project was just not going forward, as I was not much excited about it. Until the moment when I had the idea of adding a little caramel piping on a few seams and this was really a great idea because it instantly pimped up the dress and out of a sudden, it transformed from a blah dress to a cute one. Also, once the collar was installed, I really loved it, I like wearing high collars and turtlenecks in general, so this definitely helped. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlyXyreeE1Gq98jFoE3CW4oCeolkSQBibWjT2cvfJgKdgpdd2k4QzNsjUOR2qr40tKLvO7ZuCVSLIs3_KjDo6S0nIxoH9hA4yGCMPdoiR8TAeshjD6YAbv8vYZrvZKWqjME9iZ5cU0QTM/s2048/_Z6C1555-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1463" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlyXyreeE1Gq98jFoE3CW4oCeolkSQBibWjT2cvfJgKdgpdd2k4QzNsjUOR2qr40tKLvO7ZuCVSLIs3_KjDo6S0nIxoH9hA4yGCMPdoiR8TAeshjD6YAbv8vYZrvZKWqjME9iZ5cU0QTM/s320/_Z6C1555-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>The only issue I had at this point was the excess wideness of the dress. I could still wear it with a belt, but in general, I do not like that so much, so I ended up taking it in a few centimeters on the sides (not much since I had added the side pockets) and then adding back darts. This changed the silhouette of the dress significantly, so the final result is up to my expectations.</p><p>I do not own many blue clothes so this might be a good addition to my wardrobe.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtakPiWSDEN4GLayVxrbLaG6GpFnZzh-V00wbw5zHoHhGNKp75_2JWC5aevIcQupoo1jq3xbiSr30hvve53F3LwmcOAJjL_SMXxp3K32GSMWpc1jHozIOpxkzjaWMgiQr-LuGdR0DT1vY/s2048/_Z6C1496-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtakPiWSDEN4GLayVxrbLaG6GpFnZzh-V00wbw5zHoHhGNKp75_2JWC5aevIcQupoo1jq3xbiSr30hvve53F3LwmcOAJjL_SMXxp3K32GSMWpc1jHozIOpxkzjaWMgiQr-LuGdR0DT1vY/s320/_Z6C1496-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-62466752554789033072020-11-08T13:12:00.001-08:002020-11-08T13:12:02.441-08:00Outfit Sewing - Summer Edition<p>This will be a very quick post, as I have already talked about the skirt in my previous post. The fact is that the skirt is not lined and was meant to be worn and was worn in summer (the fact that it also works in autumn is a very nice coincidence), and so I needed something to go with it. </p><p>As I have sewn the Nettie body about two years ago and loved it (it is actually really great for winter period and I am really happy that it is again in fashion), I figured out that I could use a remnant of a black jersey cotton to sew a summer edition.</p><p>The pattern is still the same, I just shorten the sleeves</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2F0ZuEjwQunq8XzdpHZbnKmRyVBxhnUOJjrSFnMFal4C9q2zScaukLb4NYf6P5IzIkJuEp_y1jlbsJl7iqCJNtJBAQ2Y51d5FJWLETRXP6JgW084zB22FZIewWgztVveU2u7IdlFdml8/s2048/_Z6C1425-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi2F0ZuEjwQunq8XzdpHZbnKmRyVBxhnUOJjrSFnMFal4C9q2zScaukLb4NYf6P5IzIkJuEp_y1jlbsJl7iqCJNtJBAQ2Y51d5FJWLETRXP6JgW084zB22FZIewWgztVveU2u7IdlFdml8/s320/_Z6C1425-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><br /><p>And while we are at it, I also sewed a perfect copy of my black Nettie dress because the old one is starting to show some signs of fatigue, obviously, it is worn on a regular basis and I totally love the style.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVQ-bbHlGz309n7FpMfKVL2SgIH1uwBfODxUVo4ysZ3XlnB04men_2ofNjUt77zji46TUrIXm198ShXYGcYezxP2D9tTq6Z1NWtXIlYo2bZJxIyYDgj-SfAdNVZLlgNB21XE4Ws2VZMM8/s2048/_Z6C1426-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVQ-bbHlGz309n7FpMfKVL2SgIH1uwBfODxUVo4ysZ3XlnB04men_2ofNjUt77zji46TUrIXm198ShXYGcYezxP2D9tTq6Z1NWtXIlYo2bZJxIyYDgj-SfAdNVZLlgNB21XE4Ws2VZMM8/s320/_Z6C1426-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>This time, most of the work was done on the serger, the hems are coverlocked, only the neckline was sewn on my machine.</p><p>Now that I figured out how my super serger works, I am so happy to just be serging everything :o)</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijhbKJowiV4Tp15yejVSjnKF4w37E3TFeeC645TLpnz4Osld_ttfQJ6GFgV-2HyGphWTvmsbApQNnW2O1Y9rrM9lNr49LeNHxRXRS6rw3y3pFk3VQmc41b4Jd2ymFRKvNfQRnFKQ8UUOk/s2048/_Z6C1441-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijhbKJowiV4Tp15yejVSjnKF4w37E3TFeeC645TLpnz4Osld_ttfQJ6GFgV-2HyGphWTvmsbApQNnW2O1Y9rrM9lNr49LeNHxRXRS6rw3y3pFk3VQmc41b4Jd2ymFRKvNfQRnFKQ8UUOk/s320/_Z6C1441-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p><br /></p>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-7530156020099373832020-11-01T12:11:00.001-08:002020-11-01T12:11:12.936-08:00LinkedIn Inspiration<p> A totally improbable post title, but completely true! </p><p>The inspiration for this sewing project was exactly this picture I saw the other day on LinkedIn. </p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgumuj6CiL1zAN7qnQ59YOw7IY3h47VHu_T2AFz-wpXbovvdnPooRrwZL9KSC7pW9h5WmJdF3h7ISk6c_fCDGMdeMJ_Yx0bqOXwDFZG1Em6p5_suBSmtMjULhaSmcxNNqoz0X8ADTWnpBY/s400/Capture.PNG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="400" data-original-width="340" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgumuj6CiL1zAN7qnQ59YOw7IY3h47VHu_T2AFz-wpXbovvdnPooRrwZL9KSC7pW9h5WmJdF3h7ISk6c_fCDGMdeMJ_Yx0bqOXwDFZG1Em6p5_suBSmtMjULhaSmcxNNqoz0X8ADTWnpBY/s320/Capture.PNG" /></a></div><p>This is when I realized that I already have exactly the right fabric - the same colour and the same weight. Back in 2019, I bought 2m of bright red ponte and sewed a dress from it which I still have yet to blog. I have somehow difficulties in wearing it because.... well it is a lot of bright red :)</p><p>Then I used a piece of the fabric to whip up a little boy t-shirt and I still had half a meter left. Just perfect for this project. Well, I almost did not have enough, so I had to cheat little bit on the length, but it all worked out in the end.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgQS5scvuKenpZRlOZLL2fSJMZ_E3mXJ-yUrx_vLoRfj_5DMSS3UX1YhM9JCKEPqcrcExTzHlxCYc96FyaUzfeQwY8G0mHnYQhCrwe41RbBBiS8c46qu_OvfgUkEkhJBQUDGIpxri6VM4/s2048/_Z6C1476-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgQS5scvuKenpZRlOZLL2fSJMZ_E3mXJ-yUrx_vLoRfj_5DMSS3UX1YhM9JCKEPqcrcExTzHlxCYc96FyaUzfeQwY8G0mHnYQhCrwe41RbBBiS8c46qu_OvfgUkEkhJBQUDGIpxri6VM4/s320/_Z6C1476-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>I used my turtleneck block (already used for the turtleneck dresses) and honestly, I really like the result. I think it will probably work much better than the red dress because it is just the amount of red and I can easily combine it with darker colours.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwZynWBxJ3XkJSFE-QjOExrVLkxc6g1hyDYMZylhg0eT0AINxbO49i1I4AzQM5TZi-hE80f_5yB9RlFReYvLMPdfc_igyEFjsJwz9_UZrbRbV8TpeWT-QzA-Sonx3iZhGtNjSP1G9q1Ko/s2048/_Z6C1473-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwZynWBxJ3XkJSFE-QjOExrVLkxc6g1hyDYMZylhg0eT0AINxbO49i1I4AzQM5TZi-hE80f_5yB9RlFReYvLMPdfc_igyEFjsJwz9_UZrbRbV8TpeWT-QzA-Sonx3iZhGtNjSP1G9q1Ko/s320/_Z6C1473-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><p>And since this autumn was definitely a separates' sewing season, I whipped up a little grey skirt. So ok, these are some pretty basics, but actually this is what gets most of wear in my wardrobe and basically, it goes with almost all tops I own.</p><p>I used a piece of dark grey wool flannel I was saving up for some winter trousers, but let's be honest, this is never gonna happen so I better use the fabric for something nice. I was afraid the fabric was not sturdy enough so I used some light interfacing to beef it up little bit and I am really happy I did.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqGNCKT8P5150KhPhWjlAqCEREE_Pj4cKS4PJ0fs9M5UlfptLMGLOZVxx1Ez8XP5-Mksot5wB0KWTFNw0OnK_1k9Sndik1Z0IxvVhr8NniQ5m8fQ1n3z-BfnRa6kGSsxPnLcoQbYFHSLo/s2048/_Z6C1474-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhqGNCKT8P5150KhPhWjlAqCEREE_Pj4cKS4PJ0fs9M5UlfptLMGLOZVxx1Ez8XP5-Mksot5wB0KWTFNw0OnK_1k9Sndik1Z0IxvVhr8NniQ5m8fQ1n3z-BfnRa6kGSsxPnLcoQbYFHSLo/s320/_Z6C1474-G-1.jpg" /></a></div><br /><p><br /></p><p>I was really afraid the pockets would distort the shape of the skirt, as this happens quite often to me, so I stabilized the pocket openings and it seems to be working just OK.</p><p>The skirt is of course lined with some black silk.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmFT1Wz1fTpQ8j0xZkDxvxHl1q0qz9uaRSkfA6k5L-5T09fsYyrduU02g24PEkbXjqsEduiCFVB4SLwor_TUceYI6NVNG-pwBxqDxf4lB29SkBhNKoUsXmiT7KKUwjkBhvF9g5pUzvomc/s2048/_Z6C1466-G-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgmFT1Wz1fTpQ8j0xZkDxvxHl1q0qz9uaRSkfA6k5L-5T09fsYyrduU02g24PEkbXjqsEduiCFVB4SLwor_TUceYI6NVNG-pwBxqDxf4lB29SkBhNKoUsXmiT7KKUwjkBhvF9g5pUzvomc/s320/_Z6C1466-G-1.jpg" /></a></div>B-rouchkahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/00684118130711107627noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7374471251193405328.post-70958009544240584612020-10-25T08:47:00.003-07:002020-10-25T08:47:42.021-07:00Outfit SewingI must admit, outfit sewing is not my sewing style. I sew things I like or I would like to wear without thinking much about how it will all go together.<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEVSvnym1e3qasA3KWbOZfDZvi2oRbwOTDsBItcSKmE0d_SQh2pCGpL9LRppP07A5W-8awPi7RmbO7jo4_LaZDLPLPS5Ap28jlCWmIr8n3q3lsc960f41WAQoYzbCQEsjy_3O9oHlnjfU/s2048/_Z6C1397-G.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgEVSvnym1e3qasA3KWbOZfDZvi2oRbwOTDsBItcSKmE0d_SQh2pCGpL9LRppP07A5W-8awPi7RmbO7jo4_LaZDLPLPS5Ap28jlCWmIr8n3q3lsc960f41WAQoYzbCQEsjy_3O9oHlnjfU/s320/_Z6C1397-G.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>So while this is quite an exception, I am really happy to manage to create a whole outfit for once. </div><div>I had this remnant of fibranne viscose, left from a dress and since I really loved this fabric, I had to find something to do with it. Strangely, I always think of little tops for the remnants, but this time, I figured I could squeeze out a little simple skirt. </div><div><br /></div><div>The skirt is vaguely based on the winter shorts I sewed at the beginning of the year, for the skirt part, I just cut out what I could from my remnant and that was it.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiibzxepE7lYJxM4ZvMzZB7yBgs-QKPrUbUIj-tGuIWqpqGJZJrCS12eiqprW-j23d-N3E5IXYB_wH0dQbobAbYbiHtoM5uP59NREOSJoeMotr2vDn0cBeFNyKHMwJIh0W59lImJ7MwIBk/s2048/_Z6C1398-G.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiibzxepE7lYJxM4ZvMzZB7yBgs-QKPrUbUIj-tGuIWqpqGJZJrCS12eiqprW-j23d-N3E5IXYB_wH0dQbobAbYbiHtoM5uP59NREOSJoeMotr2vDn0cBeFNyKHMwJIh0W59lImJ7MwIBk/s320/_Z6C1398-G.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>It got sewn extremely quickly, as there is nothing very complicated, apart maybe the hidden zipper.</div><div><br /></div><div>I wore it mostly in summer with a little black Nettie body (blogpost to come), but this week I whipped up a little sweater from black merino double knit. I got a huge order from The Fabric Store this summer, including this black double knit. As usual, it is very soft and cosy and I just love the final result. </div><div>I used a very basic pattern, compared to one of my current sweaters and while this is a very basic make the result is just so versatile.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsO66PDPUQPHZoMhApCfmDg9dqgatRweob9TAcN8fIxV_untxM50zsmHxSvDVXut_zkP1Wlh9up_mEllccbmDfN82hafIqEsQFA53h1N-WUB54YGr0BZKwklZBZwkf3K0n3HCqU-TGUDc/s2048/_Z6C1405-G.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2048" data-original-width="1363" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsO66PDPUQPHZoMhApCfmDg9dqgatRweob9TAcN8fIxV_untxM50zsmHxSvDVXut_zkP1Wlh9up_mEllccbmDfN82hafIqEsQFA53h1N-WUB54YGr0BZKwklZBZwkf3K0n3HCqU-TGUDc/s320/_Z6C1405-G.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div><br /></div><div>So no difficult sewing, but a great result in the end.
